How do we monitor greenplum database performance?

Greenplum provides an optional performance monitoring feature that administrators can install and enable with Greenplum Database.

To use the Greenplum Performance Monitor, each host in your Greenplum Database array must have a monitor agent installed. When you start the Greenplum Performance Monitor, the agents begin collecting data on queries and system utilization. Segment agents send their data to the Greenplum master at regular intervals (typically every 15 seconds).

Users can query the Greenplum Performance Monitor database to see query and system performance data for both active queries and historical queries. Greenplum Performance Monitor also has a graphical web-based user interface for viewing these performance metrics.
