Position Title: Senior Database Administrator (Greenplum PostgreSQL)

Location: Boston, MA

Description: Our client, an innovative, industry leader in mobile advertising analytics and ROI is currently seeking a talented Senior Database Administrator.

Responsibilities:

· Enhance monitoring to maintain high availability

· Practice and document failover scenarios

· Troubleshoot performance issues

· Educate development team to make good schema design choices and write efficient queries

· Monitor and enhance backup solution to ensuring customers’ data is always secure

· Handle ad-hoc schema changes with no downtime

· Work with a variety of data sets: mobile, online, and offline ensuring homogenization

· Interact with client-facing teams to ensure client satisfaction

· Work with front-end developers finding data solutions between the front- and back-ends

Requirements:

· Thorough understanding of MySQL (replication, monitoring, troubleshooting and backup)

· Understanding of both MyISAM and InnoDB storage engines

· Solid knowledge of both standard SQL and MySQL-specific commands

· Greenplum and PostgreSQL

· Linux in virtual environments

· Automation

· Source control platforms and processes

· Load testing

· Dynamically scalable infrastructures
